Summer of Zero
A collection of tips for that most precarious time during your law school career: the summer before law school starts. You’ll get a ton of advice that ranges from working harder than you will in law school to doing nothing at all. The Summer of Zero tips are designed to get you thinking about what you’ll need to do in law school and hopefully lay the ground work for success by having everything in place and not feeling like you jumped into the deep end on Day One.
Law students are constantly overwhelmed with the volume of things they need to do. They need a system that helps them manage all these tasks while at the same time allowing them to step away from law school without feeling the stress of falling behind or forgetting something. David Allen’s Getting Things Done system seems tailor made for law students. By getting everything out of their heads and deciding what it means, law students can more effectively managed their commitments. By organizing their tasks and projects by contexts and religiously reviewing them, law students can step away from law school without extra stress. And by doing all four, law students can make better decisions about what needs attention from the flood of things they need to do.
